Maude Henderson
Maude is the crabby, cynical, and outwardly opinionated wife of the quiet and thoughtful Gordon Henderson. She is in charge, efficient, quick-witted, and is frequently irked by things that Gordon does. She feels he needs frequent guidance and is always there to give it. Nothing and no one seems to ever be quite good enough for her.
She doesn't know quite what to make of Kudzuville or its collection of quirky residents and their pesky habits and eccentricities. But one thing is certain: she has an opinion about every one of them! It isn't that she dislikes the South, she just would rather not have to put up with all the chicanery that the town's residents inexplicably rain down upon her and Gordon's daily parade. Simply put, she would just like to be left alone.
For Maude, the world of kudzu and car farms, strange customs and confederate flags, country music and grits is as alien to her as if she found herself living on Mars. Mason-Dixon?...what's that? Weren't they a retail chain in Elmira once?
She first appeared in the strip along with Gordon on June 1, 2007.
