Earl "Bubba" Snopes

Bubba Snopes is a lifelong resident of Kudzuville, half redneck, half self-delusional male, and half nice guy who is just trying to get by. He is a rough-around-the-edges bachelor who works on cars for a living and never seems to have enough money in his pocket. As a result, he develops hair-brained get-rich schemes which always fail. Undeterred like Kudzu living in fertilizer, he is not above garbage picking and hunting through dumps to find good deals and quality junk that others have discarded. For Bubba, all that may be needed to return something to "like-new" condition is some duct tape and a little paint.

Bubba is infatuated with Mavis, a 22-year old, chestnut-haired beauty who works as a waitress at the Blue Armadillo Cafe in town. Jealous and without a clue, he fancies himself the bachelor stud of the town and can't understand why she doesn't want to marry him. Yet, hidden beneath the layered veneers of male prowess and blustery ego is a soft-hearted man who loves his truck he calls "Baby", is dedicated to his friends, longs for the weekend when he can eat, drink beer, and watch the game on TV.

Bubba appeared in the very first Down South cartoon, which appeared June 1, 2007.
